Writing: What’s Next

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make Broken World’s release day such a success! I am so happy with how it went and hope that everyone enjoys reading the latest instalment!

Now that it is out there, I am planning what I will be working on next. So far, I am undecided between starting Book 4 in the series or returning to where I left off with Demon’s Life. I have the first scene for Perfect World 4 already mapped out in my head and the series will be taken in exciting new directions going forward! Demon’s Life is halfway complete and it would make sense to finish that first so I am leaning towards doing this.

I also want to continue my fantasy novel which is also currently in progress! I would love to do all 3 but the most I can manage is probably two at once. I always like to have two books on the go at any one time as it helps if I have writer’s block with one I can change to the other until inspiration returns.

Once I have decided I will be sure to post an update and let you all know. If you have a preference of what you would like to see next do please comment and let me know, as I always take my readers’ thoughts into consideration 🙂

Update

As I have not been on social media that much over the last couple of weeks, I thought I would write a quick update explaining the reason for my absence.

I’ve been suffering from a really bad viral infection which also resulted in a burst ear drum! I have been resting up and am feeling a lot better now apart from not being able to hear much in my left ear. My doctor told me this should improve over the next few weeks so fingers-crossed it does.

This means I am behind with my reading and writing so there will be no monthly reading list for a little while until I can catch up. I’m starting to look at Perfect World 3 again and hope to have an update on this very soon.

I hope everyone is well and I am looking forward to catching up with you all!

Progress Report

Progress Report 2

It has been a little while since my last update, so I thought I would let you all know how my progress has been going since my last post.

Perfect World 3 is still out for beta reading and I hope to receive all the feedback by the end of the year. In the meantime, I have finished the cover design and drafted the summary. I am really having to restrain myself when it comes to putting that out as I want to wait until everything is ready before the cover reveal. I hope to be able to do this in January, which is not too far off now! I am also drafting book 4 in the series so hopefully there will not be such a massive gap between releases this time!

I am also writing the second draft of Demon’s Past which is the next novel in my Demon’s Blood universe. I am really enjoying writing about Taku and Thane’s time together before the events in Demon’s Blood and I cannot wait to share their story with you all.

In the New Year I would also like to pick up my fantasy novel again. I started this way back for my first NaNoWriMo and I really want to give Fayte and Marnai the story that they deserve. I have it all planned out now, I just need the time to write it!

I also haven’t forgotten about my new segment on my blog ‘Shari Reviews Stuff’. I have a new review drafted and this should hopefully go up this week.

So things are busy ‘behind the scenes’ as we reach the end of the year! I hope everyone is keeping well and I will share further updates with you all soon!

Upcoming works in 2020

I hope everyone had a brilliant new year!

I thought I would take this time to share with you what I have planned writing-wise for 2020.

Perfect World

Book 3 is still in the drafting stages and whilst I’m unsure if it will be released next year, it is at the top of my priorities list to get finished. I’m super excited about the direction book 3 is taking and cannot wait to share it with you all!

Demon’s Blood universe

I have been working on a prequel to Demon’s Blood which will cover the early years of Taku and Thane’s relationship, including how they first met. I’m loving writing this as late 1800s Japan is such an interesting period to write about!

Untitled fantasy novel

This novel has literally been in my drafts for over ten years! It was the first novel I ever wrote for NaNoWriMo but for various reasons its never made it any further than drafts until now. I cannot wait to restart working on this and plan to during the latter half of 2020.

Novel Updates!

It’s been a little while since my last post so I thought I would give an update as to where I am with my current works.

Demon’s Blood sequel

The proof-reading has now been completed so I’m currently going through it myself again to make absolutely sure I am happy with everything. Over the new few weeks I’m hoping to finally be able to confirm the title! It does have a title, I just want to reveal that to coincide with blurb and cover if possible. The cover and blurb are the next two things I will be working on. I’ve had the draft ideas for the cover for well over a year so I know exactly what I want on it so it shouldn’t take too long to do. I’m also working on some character-based posts which will lead up to the release date. The release date should be the latter part of the year. I’m hoping to confirm this in the next couple of weeks too.

Demon’s Blood universe

This project is turning out bigger than I had anticipated! I have at least 3 more novels planned which are set in the universe featuring various characters from it.

Perfect World 3

This is currently my work in progress so still very much in the early stages. I am aiming to get the draft done by the end of the year which scarily enough is not that far away now!

Back from break!

I’m now back from my break. During my time offline I managed to finally get Demon’s Blood’s sequel finished and ready for edits and proofing, and achieved a lot of other offline things too. Of course I am very glad to have my Internet back and look forward to sharing with you my new releases, book reviews and all other things book-related 😀 I hope everyone is well and I’ll be posting more once I’ve fully caught up with everything.

Taking a break

From tomorrow (25th February) I’m going to be taking a short break whilst I sort out my house move and various other offline things. My blog will be updated with pre-scheduled posts but there won’t be any book reviews, book blitzs/tours (other than those already scheduled) or novel posts until the middle of March. I will still be active on Twitter and Facebook, it’s just I won’t have internet access on my laptop and I find scheduling posts on my phone really tricky. So please do contact me on there or you can leave comments here as I will still be checking my blog and those I follow via the app!
