Happy Halloween!

Halloween 2022

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you’re all having a spook-tastic day!

As you all know I am no stranger to paranormal experiences and today I thought I would share a couple of these with you.

This first one happened in the house where I used to live. It was probably close to midnight and I had just gone to bed. I was just drifting off when I felt a hand touch my bare back under my pyjama top. Of course, it made me jump and grab my phone for the torchlight. When I looked there was no one there. This never happened again but when we had first moved into that house, my sister said something did not feel quite right about it, especially in her bedroom. Strangely enough this feeling went away when she changed the position of all the furniture in there!

The second experience I am sharing with you happened when me and friend went to London to see VAMPS in concert. We had booked to stay in one of those Victorian house to hotel conversions. I cannot remember the name of the hotel, but the room had a spooky vibe to it from the moment we walked in. There were even creepy photos of long-dead Victorians hanging on the walls.

When we returned from the gig, we were both really tired and just wanted to go sleep. We had just turned the light out when we started hearing this creaking like someone was walking around in the room. Oddly, it was just coming from my friend’s side of the room. We put the light on, and nothing was there, so we put it out again. As soon as the lights went out it started again. My friend was getting worried now as we could both see some kind of shadow near the foot of her bed. It was tall like it was a person but there were no obvious features to it. I said to my friend we needed to ignore it as her getting scared was encouraging it. It takes a lot for a paranormal encounter to scare me, so I think this is why it was only on her side of the room. It somehow sensed that there was no point in trying to frighten me.

In the end my friend ended up sharing my bed and so the thing followed her across the room and the floorboards at the end of my bed started creaking. I sat up in bed and told it that we had been to a gig, and we were tired so would it mind please going to bother someone else. I honestly did not expect that to work but it did and off it went! After my friend had calmed down, we settled down to get some sleep and as I was drifting off, I heard someone in the room next door saying, ‘What’s that?’.

If you have experienced anything spooky or unexplained, please do share them with me!

The Deafening Silence

An unproven alliance. A broken promise. A mafia boss must shed blood to secure peace…

Nao Murata is on the verge of brokering peace between his syndicate and the Mafufugumi mob. To seal the deal, he’ll need to pick up Russian prostitutes to appease his newest ally. When the exchange goes sour, both sides draw blades and Nao has no choice but to care for a blood-soaked enemy. If the man doesn’t make it through the night, Nao and his crew will pay with their lives.

Outnumbered and stranded in enemy territory, Nao is forced to fight his way out before the Mafufugumi Godfather takes the deal off the table. As his wounded enemy’s heartbeat slows, Nao must act fast or condemn his syndicate to a brutal war.

The Tea House

Jaime is looking for sanctuary and a new start after escaping his stepfather. With little money to his name, he doubts he can afford the gorgeous bed and breakfast he stumbles upon, surrounded by tea roses inside and out. Then Logan, the handsome young concierge, surprises Jaime with a ‘pay what you can’ policy, and Jaime is instantly smitten.

Little does Jaime know the Tea House is plagued by rumors of monsters and disappearances and is known by another name.

Hollow House.

Flowers of Flesh and Blood

A killer. A traitor. A deadly war that could take their love and their lives…

Ruling the Kyoto yakuza makes Nao Murata a perpetual target, especially with the Koreans encroaching into their territory. An attempt on his life at his mafia headquarters crosses a line. Setting up his beloved ally Aki as the would-be assassin crosses another. Nao knows the only way to save his friend’s life is to sever their growing bond and force Aki to fake his own death…

But Aki Hisona refuses to stay dead. Determined to expose Nao’s would-be killer and save the man he loves, Aki goes deep undercover in the Korean underworld. But when he’s asked to prove his loyalty, he risks becoming caught in a web of his own lies…

With Aki gone and the Kyoto mafia in grave danger, Nao fears his trust in others could be fatal.

Will Nao and Aki find the assassin in time, or will Nao’s rule end in bloody chaos?

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone is having a spooktastic day!

Last year I shared with you a selection of my Halloween Horror Favourite Movies! This year I would like to share with you my favourite Halloween song.

Halloween Party by Halloween Junky Orchestra!

Halloween Junky Orchestra is a collection of Japanese musicians (masterminded by Hyde and K.A.Z from VAMPS) who came together to release the song Halloween Party. I just love this song much, it completely captures the fun and spookiness of Halloween! The music video is awesome too! I recommend you checking it out!

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!

Shari’s Halloween Horror Favourites!

As well as being an avid reader, I am a real film buff and go to the cinema as many times as I can each month. Horror is one of my favourite genres and as today’s Halloween, I thought I would share with you a selection of my favourite horror films.

aquietplace A Quiet Place

What’s it about: Earth is invaded by aliens who hunt primarily by sound. A father tries his best to protect his family in a world where making any kind of noise will get you killed.

Shari’s thoughts: Filmed almost most silence, A Quiet Place does an excellent job of building up tension combined with unexpected jump scares.  You will be on the edge of your seat for the entire film.
