What Day is it Anyway? Saturday 1st August 2020

My Day: Today I ventured ‘out’ out for the first time since March! Me and my parents went to West Dean Gardens which is so pretty this time of year! It gave me lots of ideas for my Animal Crossing Island too!

Things are still going great with Perfect World 3. I’m hoping to have it finished in a few months which is amazing! I also finished plotting Book 4 and I think it is going to be too long for one book so I have divided it into two! I am very happy about this as it means I have longer with Adam and Eric before their story ends!

My day: To do lists. These are something I excel at writing and then fail epically at completing. Up until the last two weeks I had them written on my phone in the reminders app so I could check them off when they were getting done. The problem. They weren’t getting done as I could just shut the app down and ignore them. So I went back to the old pen and paper list format and it really works. As it is sitting by my laptop, every night it guilts me into action and I complete at least 2 things on it. Of course, as with all to do lists the number of items on it multiples every time I check one thing off but I feel as though I am making progress this way at least.

Speaking of progress, Perfect World 3 is now two thirds complete! I cannot believe that only a few months ago I was still on the first few chapters and now I am thinking about cover design and synopsis!  Its insane that a release date for the first half of 2021 didn’t seem possible and now it kind of is!

I saw my Sims again today for the first time in quite a while. Bella seemed a bit stressed so I took her out for a night clubbing with her friends. She had a great time but when she woke up the next morning she had that mysterious rash that they randomly get for no apparent reason! So a few days off work and resting up in bed for her! I bet her Boss thought she was hungover!

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday 12th July 2020

My Day:  I have a three day weekend this weekend, which I had completely forgotten about! I had booked Monday off because me and my sister were going to Hyper Japan in London, but that’s been moved to next year now. I didn’t bother cancelling the day as a three-day weekend is always welcome! Especially at the moment when my Perfect World muse is working overtime!

I’m on Chapter 21 now and this novel really is just writing itself now!  I spent much of today re-vamping the Perfect World website and I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. Everything seems to be a lot more organised there now. I’ve also been adding to the Pinterest Board for the series!

Yesterday was the fishing tournament in Animal Crossing so I spent much of the day doing that. I managed to get all the items and then duplicates too. CJ seemed to think I really liked the fish rug as I got 5 of that! I do like the rug, but a bit of variation would have been nice! I also redesigned my campsite as I had some new ideas for it. I keep thinking I have finished making over my Island and then find there’s more I want to do. It’s so much fun though and a good stress-reliever too!

What Day is it Anyway? Wednesday, 1st July 2020

My Day: I feel as though I’ve stopped writing these as much as I used to. I think its really because I’ve been waiting for something interesting to happen that I can share and also I’ve been doing quite a few book reviews recently. I don’t like posting multiple posts on the same day, especially for book reviews as I don’t want to limit exposure for the authors by knocking the review off the top spot in the same day.

I have had plenty of time on my hands to write and finally the muses are cooperating enough for me to make some serious headway in Perfect World 3. By serious headway I mean it is now halfway done. I officially hit the halfway done mark last night. I know I keep saying it, but it really is a lot darker than the previous books in the series. Even more so than I thought it would be! I think that just happens sometimes, once you get writing you go in a direction that you perhaps weren’t quite expecting but find it just feels right that it took that path. Anyway, its halfway done and I’m hoping that a release for early next year isn’t too ambitious but we’ll see. I have also been inspired to write a little side project to do with the series. If that comes together I’m planning on making it a freebie that you’ll be able to download on the Perfect World website.

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday, 21st June 2020

My Day: I signed off the proofs of Demon’s Blood and Demon’s Life today! I’m so excited to have finally have print copies and cannot wait to see them live in the Amazon store! I’m going to start working on the print copies for my Perfect Word series next. I think I will start with Adam as the print copy is already live it just needs the new publisher logo added to the cover.

I feel like I have achieved so much with my novels in the last few months and I cannot decide whether it is entirely due to the lock-down or whether I am finally getting organised with my free-time. Either way I intend to continue it when lock-down has ended.

I’ve spent most of today working on Perfect World 3. Things are starting to get quite dark now. Its making writing it quite heavy going so I need to have more breaks and do something happy like play Animal Crossing!

What Day is it Anyway? Tuesday, 2nd June 2020

My Day: I’ve been reading so much more since lock-down began and as I think about what has changed since before, I definitely want to keep reading as much as I have done.  I finished another book today and am half way through another which never happened before.

At the weekend I submitted the print version of Demon’s Life so I am now waiting on the proof. I’m really excited to see it and also see it alongside Demon’s Blood. Once they have both been approved I just need to finalise the print versions of Perfect World and New Era and then all my published works, apart from Never Change, will be available in print format! I don’t even have printed copies so I’m really looking forward to being able to get them and put them on my bookshelf.

It’s suddenly got really hot the last few days. I get the sun in my front room in the afternoon/early evening so I have been putting my fan on when I’m on my laptop or watching the TV. I do feel a bit bad though as Tash is scared of it. She sits in her TeePee and watches me and when I go to turn it off she runs out and sits on me the minute I do!

Novel Updates!

It’s been a little while since my last post so I thought I would give an update as to where I am with my current works.

Demon’s Blood sequel

The proof-reading has now been completed so I’m currently going through it myself again to make absolutely sure I am happy with everything. Over the new few weeks I’m hoping to finally be able to confirm the title! It does have a title, I just want to reveal that to coincide with blurb and cover if possible. The cover and blurb are the next two things I will be working on. I’ve had the draft ideas for the cover for well over a year so I know exactly what I want on it so it shouldn’t take too long to do. I’m also working on some character-based posts which will lead up to the release date. The release date should be the latter part of the year. I’m hoping to confirm this in the next couple of weeks too.

Demon’s Blood universe

This project is turning out bigger than I had anticipated! I have at least 3 more novels planned which are set in the universe featuring various characters from it.

Perfect World 3

This is currently my work in progress so still very much in the early stages. I am aiming to get the draft done by the end of the year which scarily enough is not that far away now!

Perfect World series

Perfect World began life as a side project to my novel Demon’s Blood which I was writing at the time. My preferred method of writing is to have a couple of projects on the go at once, this helps prevent me from getting writer’s block and if I do get it I can jump from one to another rather than not get any writing done at all. To begin with it was meant to be a standalone novel, but as I began to write it started to take on a life of its own and became the Perfect World series.

There are many themes running throughout the series. There are warnings over the manipulation of human genetics, the impact of climate change and what isolation can do to a nation. There is also the developing relationship between protagonist Eric Rawlins and Book 1 antagonist Adam Larimore. Eric worries that Adam is only using him whilst Adam, recognising that his feelings for Eric are genuine, fears that they’ll get in the way of his plans for revenge.

New Era and What’s Next

It’s been nearly three weeks since New Era was released and I thought I would post this quick update on the series and also what will be next from me.

First of all I would like to thank everyone who has purchased New Era or read it on Kindle Unlimited. During the run up to release Perfect World was on promotion for free and I was amazed that it got to number 1 in one of its categories! So again thanks so much to everyone who downloaded it during the promotional period and made this possible.

I haven’t stopped writing since New Era was released. The next novel I am working on is the long-awaited sequel to Demon’s Blood. I am tentatively aiming for a January 2019 release for this. Over the next few months I’ll be posting more details about the release and also the cover reveal. I’m also working on the next instalment of my Perfect World series and hope to be able to release that in the earlier half of next year too! So a lot going on behind the scenes!

I am also aware that I am quite behind on my reviews, but I am working through these every day so there will be more reviews posted in the coming months. Submissions will hopefully reopen in January, but this will be confirmed later in the year.

Thanks again to everyone for your continued support, its truly appreciated 🙂
