What day is it Anyway? Friday 15th May 2020

My day: I have so much more time to read as well as write nowadays which is a good thing since I do have a review backlog of a couple of years. I know. That’s terrible and I feel absolutely awful about it even though the reasons I am so behind were out of my hands. Anyway, I am making up for it now. I have finished 3 books this week. I am well on my way to clearing the rest of my review queue now which is great news!

I also have more time for writing, and also sorting out the print editions of my novels. I received the final proof of Demon’s Blood back yesterday and I am happy to report that I can now sign it off! I am almost finished with formatting Demon’s Life too so after I’ve done that I will just need to get the cover print ready.

My plans for the weekend are mainly to do book-related stuff. I also have to go to Tesco tomorrow morning to get some more milk. I think I am going to go early again as there was no one in there last time I went early.

What Day is it Anyway? Friday 8th May 2020

My day: As today is a bank holiday, yesterday was technically the last day of my time off work. I’ve been working on trying to get all my novels formatted for print copies this week, which has been taking a lot longer than I thought it would. After me spending hours messing about with the cover, Demon’s Blood has gone back for a final proof before submission! I also started working on Demon’s Life. I thought I had finished it yesterday but I forgot to turn orphan control off so when I did at the end it upset all the pages so I have to look at it again now!

A large part of my week has also been taken up with Animal Crossing and today I thought I would share with you some screen-shots of my Island redevelopment so far! My Island is called Mallepa (the fictional city where my favourite Japanese vampire movie is set!) and I have called it Mallepa in every incarnation of Animal Crossing so of course I stuck with tradition this time too! I haven’t uploaded all of them as there is quite a few, but a selection of my favourite parts!

Mallepa Entrance

The entrance to Mallepa!

Mallepa Duck Pond

Mallepa duck pond! Those decoy ducks are so adorable and that you can customise them too makes them even cuter!

Mallepa Apple Orchard

This is going to be a woodland walk/apple orchard (once the apples have grown!) but it also serves as a horribly confusing maze for unsuspecting Island visitors!

Mallepa Play Park

What Day is it Anyway? Wednesday 6th May 2020

My day: I’ve been using my time off work to have a really good sort out and re-organise of every room in my home and I finished it yesterday! I realised that I never really sorted it out from moving in a year ago! I just kind of put things away as quickly as I could so I could reclaim my living room from all the boxes! I found I actually have more space than I thought which is really good too!

I went for a really long walk along the beach today. The tide was out so I ended up walking down on the sand again. I think I ended up taking half of the beach back in my trainers but it was good to get out and get some fresh air!

Tash decided to use her Tee Pee the other night. I heard a rustling sound and she was just getting comfy inside it!

Animal Crossing is taking over my life at the moment. I just love being able to terra-form the entire Island! I’ll have to try and get some screenshots at some point, but I really love what I have been able to do so far! There is one resident who is really annoying me though. Rasher! I wish he would move out! He’s just always there when I’m trying to build a path or put something down. He also stands outside residents services every night singing! He’s so irritating!

What Day is it Anyway? Friday, 1st May 2020

My day: Happy May Day everyone! I’m on leave from work now until 11th May! I decided to make a plan for each day as otherwise I will just procrastinate for the entire 11 days and end up wishing I’d done everything and actually achieving nothing!

Today I really feel as though I achieved a lot. I started off by sorting through all my bath bombs, bubble baths and other bath stuff in the bathroom. These were scattered about with no real order and now I have bath bombs in one box, bubble bath in another etc and I have more space in there as a result! I then moved into the lounge and gave it a complete spring clean. As I’m now home working I had taken it over to work in so it was a lot messier than normal. I sorted everything out and I can now see the surface of my dining room table again! I also went through the drawers in my TV cabinet where I was shoving in things that I had no idea where else to put them! I then did half of my shredding which I think I might have moved house with its been hanging around for so long! Annoyingly the shredder kept jamming and so I ended up trying to tease little bits of paper out of the teeth with a pair of nail scissors and tweezers. I did honestly feel like I had done keyhole surgery by the time it was fixed!

I then went into the kitchen to make a pasta sauce in my slow cooker. I also had some leftover pastry from last night’s goats cheese tart that I made, and I suddenly had an idea of making some mini cheese and tomato rolls with it. I did wonder if this was going to be one of my bad ideas as I’m really not that great in the kitchen and doing something without a recipe was incredibly risky. Still I decided to do it anyway and whilst they are not perfect to look at, they turned out not only just edible but really nice!

Pasties

After lunch I worked some more on Perfect World 3. I am so happy with how it is turning out right now. For ages I was really struggling with it, but its just writing itself at the moment. If things carry on at this pace then the release for early next year doesn’t seem that impossible at all!

I also had a few deliveries today. One was my New Look order and the other was Tash’s tee-pee! I was more excited about the tee-pee out of the two of them but unfortunately Tash didn’t share my enthusiasm. She came sauntering over when she heard me unwrapping it as she mistook the rustling for food but quickly became bored when she realised that it wasn’t! I set it all up for her and called her back over. She gave me a look that literally said ‘what on earth have you bought me that for?’ and hasn’t gone near it since! She’s a bit funny with new things so I’m hoping she will come round to it eventually but until then it is sitting unused in my lounge!

What Day is it Anyway? Wednesday, 22nd April 2020

My day: I’m still working from home and I must admit I am actually starting to miss going into work now. There’s only so much I can do from home too so there is going to be a nice backlog waiting for me once the lock-down is over which I am itching to get started on!

I finished the main story in Animal Crossing yesterday! I was actually surprised at how short it was, but now at least I can focus on what I want to do. I’ve been breeding flowers mainly and also paying off that massive loan for my extra room! My house isn’t that organised at the moment and is filled with random things for each different room I want to eventually build. I also saw today that Redd is going to be added to the game so yay I’m going to have to waste money on his forged paintings!

I’ve been watching a few things on Netflix this week. I watched a film called Time Trap which is about some teenagers who go looking for their missing archaeology professor in a network of caves and discover that time starts moving at a different speed to the outside world. When I first started watching it I wasn’t sold immediately but it ended up being quite good in a scary, messing with your mind kind of way. There are few things that can even remotely freak me out but that came close in a good way.

The other thing I’ve started watching is Tiger King. I cannot get my head around it. It’s completely insane, disturbing yet compelling. I’ve watched just over half of it so far and will probably end up finishing it tonight.

I amended my online shopping order earlier and I was actually able to add hand gel to the basket for the first time in forever! Whether it will turn up is another thing entirely but that its not all sold out is encouraging! I also ordered Tash some dreamies. I think she’s starting to wish I would go back to work too as I’m constantly sitting on her sofa or disturbing her middle of the day cat-naps with brush time!

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday, 19th April 2020

Yesterday: I spent most of my day working on Perfect World 3. I try to find positives in bad situations and one positive is that I have never had so much time to write. I shouldn’t get too carried away as Perfect World 3 is still very much a draft but if I keep this up a release in the first half of next year does not seem overly optimistic. As I’ve said before its taking a much darker tone than the previous books. I never like to give away too much when I’m still writing a novel but this except below sums up how things are turning out!

“I’m sorry,” Adam murmured quietly. In truth he didn’t know what he was apologising for. For what he had been about to do or what he knew he would do before all of this was over.

I also spent some time on Animal Crossing. I moved my house AGAIN so that’s cost me 60,000 Bells so far as I cannot make up mind where I want it. It’s currently next to a waterfall and I think I will leave it there now. I’m breeding plants at the moment and have some lovely black roses for my garden! I also saved up enough Nook Miles for the Godzilla statue! So he’s now overlooking/guarding the beach from the clifftops!

Today: I wrote some more this morning and this afternoon I dropped in on my Sims. Dallas’ aspiration is Social Butterfly but other Sims don’t seem to like her much so making friends for her is such hard work. She’s finally got the 3 children friends she needs but she needed a couple of adult friends as well. So I thought it would be a good opportunity for her to patch things up with her father. Dallas called him over and he actually turned up this time which was a good start! After some cloud gazing together and a couple of hugs they were friends so mission accomplished! Don also tried to flirt his way back into Bella’s good-books! Which did not go unnoticed by Mitchell and they got into a fight! Unfortunately for Mitchell, Don is ripped for spending all day every day at the gym so he got his ass kicked. They now despise each other!

I’m finding that since everyone went mad with food shopping and hoarding, I am ending up with way more substitutes with my online shopping. The other week they included these really cute heart marshmallows! Normally I just get the plain white 80p ones for my hot chocolate but they didn’t have them so they sent the heart ones instead. Thesse are almost double in price but I only paid the price of the normal ones!

What Day is it Anyway? Monday, 13th April 2020

Easter Weekend: I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long Easter weekend even though it was probably not spent how we all planned or wanted.

I spent Saturday sorting some bits out around the flat and watching some films. I also played more of my Animal Crossing (I now have two bridges so am much closer to not needing the stick to vault over the rivers anymore yay!). My little critters who share the Island with me always seem kind of angry for some reason? When I talk to them they are fine, but they stomp around the place looking furious! Maybe its all the weeds and stuff? I want my Island to be quite natural looking so I haven’t pulled them all up as I used to in previous games but maybe I ought too?

My new duvet set arrived! I’m so happy with it, it is so cute! Tash sat in my windowsill and watched me put it on. I think she was planning on claiming it as soon as I had finished but the sun had come out and her spot on the sill was nice and warm so she ended up staying where she was for a while!

Yesterday I mostly worked on Perfect World 3! I am getting so much done on that now! I think now I’ve sorted the issues I’ve had with it, it should write itself very quickly which is great! I have no idea how long it is going to be yet, but I have a feeling it will be at least as long as New Era. I also worked on my fantasy novel. I always have a couple of books on the go at the same time so if I get writer’s block on one I can switch to the other, which always works quite well for me. I also planned my chapters out for my fantasy novel which is a first for me so it will be interesting to see how that works out.

Today I worked some more on Perfect World 3 and played some Sims. Deacon is being a little horror and refuses to eat any of the food that Bella and Mitchell give him. Dallas is doing well in the drama club, she’s on level 3 Practical Performer now! She’s doing better at school again too and has made her first BFF Billie Jang! Don came by to see her once, or rather he was going to but he stopped to chat/flirt with Bella Goth so Dallas had gone to bed by the time he actually made it to the front door!

What Day is it Anyway? Friday, 10th April 2020

My day: Today is Good Friday so I am now off work until Tuesday! I spent most of today working on Perfect World 3. I am so much happier with it now and it shows through my writing as I got so much more done and everything is flowing better than before.

Last night my Asda order arrived. Most things were there just a few bits missing (lemonade, washing up liquid and parmesan cheese!). Most importantly I received both loo roll and pasta as I was worried that I would have to start rationing them soon!

I checked in with Bella and Mitchell late afternoon on Sims. They now have a son Deacon, and Dallas has aged up to a child. Their cat Luna also had a kitten! Some random tom cat must have knocked her up when she went out exploring! It annoyed me a bit as Ares (I panicked when it popped up with the name prompt and this was all I could think of) took the last slot in the household but he’s the spitting image of my cat Tash so I can’t bring myself to rehome him! I also treated myself to the university expansion pack as its on sale at the moment.  I wanted Dallas to become an actress so I’ve decided she will now to go University first and get the Drama degree when she’s older.

I went for a walk along the beach this evening which was nice as there wasn’t too many people to avoid! It was still warm too but not as hot as it had been earlier in day. The tide was out as well so I got to walk on the sand rather than the promenade.

This evening I’m going to play a bit more Sims and then check in on Animal Crossing. I also need to look at my emails. I received a message that everyone waiting for a parcel dreads. Hermes: We’ve got your parcel! Last time they told me they had delivered it to my door step when I was out and sent me a photo to confirm this – a photo showing Flat 5. I’m Flat 4! Luckily I have an honest neighbour and he brought it down for me when I got in!

What Day is it Anyway? Wednesday, 8th April 2020

My day: I’ve been working from home a couple of weeks now and tonight I’m starting to feel it. My back has been killing me all day. I can’t 100% blame home-working as before the virus outbreak I used to spend as much time on my personal laptop but being hunched over a laptop at my dining room table all day every day probably doesn’t help!

I’m still waiting to hear about my holiday although I have a feeling that the lock-down will be extended next week so matters will be taken out of the agents’ hands.

Literally as I typed that I received an email confirming it has been cancelled and they will call me to rebook or refund!

I decided to treat myself to a new duvet set last night from ASDA George! It’s so cute and I’ll post photos when it arrives! Tash is very excited about this too as she hates the set it is replacing (this satiny-silk material set which she slips off of when trying to get comfy!).

Not much else has happened today. I have managed to solve my issue I had with Perfect World 3! It was going fine but it didn’t really flow right if that makes sense and I was having real trouble getting excited about it as a result (I had the same issue with Demon’s Life which is partly why it took 5 years to finish!). I have now figured out why it wasn’t working in my mind though so I am hoping to make some tweaks and further headway on it this weekend.

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday, 5th April 2020

Yesterday: Yesterday started with my midnight queue to get onto the Tesco’s website to try and book a food order for the latter part of the month. I’m having to go between Tesco and Asda to get a slot now which is really annoying. Honestly at times the food situation causes me more stress than the virus threat. I don’t drive and I have a medical condition which makes carrying a lot of groceries almost impossible so its been quite a worry for me as I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t get online orders. I had to wait about ten minutes but I was able to get a slot and do my shopping. Mission accomplished so I set my alarm and went to sleep.

I got up at about 8am and after getting dressed I went down to my local Tesco express to get milk and also see if they had any pasta and loo roll in. They had neither so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they turn up with my order on Thursday as I am starting to have to ration what I have left! I then cleaned my flat (and bleached the door handles again). I spoke to Mum and Dad on the phone. They are fine, are keeping busy and have neighbours and the village buddy system helping them which is good.

I had a pizza for lunch as a treat and when I went to do the washing up I found that Tash had decided to sit in my dish drainer! I think she was actually asleep in there before she heard me coming and sat up!

I spent the rest of the day playing my Sims. My prediction about Don was right and he left Bella for Nina Caliente! Luckily Bella has found love again with her lodger/slave Mitchell Kalani and they are raising her daughter Dallas Lothario together!

Today: I spent most of the day writing Perfect World 3. I will probably never have this much free time again so I am going to take as much advantage of it as possible to get it written. I also saw my Sims again this afternoon. It was Winterfest (aka Christmas!)! Poor Mitchell kept being given the empty present containing only sadness and lies 😦 but Bella and Dallas had a blast! Don came round to see his daughter but then ditched her to try and seduce Bella again. She is wise to his charms now and kicked him out!
