What Day is it Anyway? Saturday 1st August 2020

My Day: Today I ventured ‘out’ out for the first time since March! Me and my parents went to West Dean Gardens which is so pretty this time of year! It gave me lots of ideas for my Animal Crossing Island too!

Things are still going great with Perfect World 3. I’m hoping to have it finished in a few months which is amazing! I also finished plotting Book 4 and I think it is going to be too long for one book so I have divided it into two! I am very happy about this as it means I have longer with Adam and Eric before their story ends!

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday 19th July 2020

My day: To do lists. These are something I excel at writing and then fail epically at completing. Up until the last two weeks I had them written on my phone in the reminders app so I could check them off when they were getting done. The problem. They weren’t getting done as I could just shut the app down and ignore them. So I went back to the old pen and paper list format and it really works. As it is sitting by my laptop, every night it guilts me into action and I complete at least 2 things on it. Of course, as with all to do lists the number of items on it multiples every time I check one thing off but I feel as though I am making progress this way at least.

Speaking of progress, Perfect World 3 is now two thirds complete! I cannot believe that only a few months ago I was still on the first few chapters and now I am thinking about cover design and synopsis!  Its insane that a release date for the first half of 2021 didn’t seem possible and now it kind of is!

I saw my Sims again today for the first time in quite a while. Bella seemed a bit stressed so I took her out for a night clubbing with her friends. She had a great time but when she woke up the next morning she had that mysterious rash that they randomly get for no apparent reason! So a few days off work and resting up in bed for her! I bet her Boss thought she was hungover!

What Day is it Anyway? Thursday, 9th July 2020

My day: For much of the duration of lock-down I’ve been more or less able to keep track of the days, but for some reason I have been losing track of the last few weeks. No idea why but I woke up this morning convinced it was Saturday. Checking my phone and seeing Thursday left me very disappointed.

My sister and her husband have a seagull family nesting on their roof and she’s been telling me how one fell off! He’s fine luckily and landed in their garden, but he’s now stuck down there until he can fly. The RSPB said to leave him alone as the parents will still look after him but they haven’t been that much as they have two more on the roof. So my sister has been giving him some food too as she was worried he wasn’t getting enough. He’s been named Steven (after Steven Seagal!) and now waits outside the backdoor for her to come out and feed him. And if she doesn’t he starts squeaking until she does! She also been leaving her guinea pig hutch open at night (she brings the guinea pigs inside overnight) so he has somewhere to sleep! I think his siblings are jealous that they didn’t fall off the roof too!

What Day is it Anyway? Wednesday, 1st July 2020

My Day: I feel as though I’ve stopped writing these as much as I used to. I think its really because I’ve been waiting for something interesting to happen that I can share and also I’ve been doing quite a few book reviews recently. I don’t like posting multiple posts on the same day, especially for book reviews as I don’t want to limit exposure for the authors by knocking the review off the top spot in the same day.

I have had plenty of time on my hands to write and finally the muses are cooperating enough for me to make some serious headway in Perfect World 3. By serious headway I mean it is now halfway done. I officially hit the halfway done mark last night. I know I keep saying it, but it really is a lot darker than the previous books in the series. Even more so than I thought it would be! I think that just happens sometimes, once you get writing you go in a direction that you perhaps weren’t quite expecting but find it just feels right that it took that path. Anyway, its halfway done and I’m hoping that a release for early next year isn’t too ambitious but we’ll see. I have also been inspired to write a little side project to do with the series. If that comes together I’m planning on making it a freebie that you’ll be able to download on the Perfect World website.

What Day is it Anyway? Sunday, 21st June 2020

My Day: I signed off the proofs of Demon’s Blood and Demon’s Life today! I’m so excited to have finally have print copies and cannot wait to see them live in the Amazon store! I’m going to start working on the print copies for my Perfect Word series next. I think I will start with Adam as the print copy is already live it just needs the new publisher logo added to the cover.

I feel like I have achieved so much with my novels in the last few months and I cannot decide whether it is entirely due to the lock-down or whether I am finally getting organised with my free-time. Either way I intend to continue it when lock-down has ended.

I’ve spent most of today working on Perfect World 3. Things are starting to get quite dark now. Its making writing it quite heavy going so I need to have more breaks and do something happy like play Animal Crossing!

What Day is it Anyway? Thursday, 11th June 2020

My day: My book proof for Demon’s Life arrived! I am so happy with how it turned out and it looks so good alongside Demon’s Blood too! I’m going to go through them both at the weekend and approve them so they will hopefully go live next week. I can then also order myself final copies! Then it will be on to Perfect World!

DB and DL Proof

I had a call from my bank this afternoon to inform me that an unauthorised charge had been made on my credit card for the grand total of 81p! And thanks to that idiot I now have had my card cancelled and have to wait 5-10 working days for a new one!

I’m still getting on really well with my review backlog! I am now four novels away from clearing it which is amazing seeing I was so far behind!

What Day is it Anyway? Tuesday, 2nd June 2020

My Day: I’ve been reading so much more since lock-down began and as I think about what has changed since before, I definitely want to keep reading as much as I have done.  I finished another book today and am half way through another which never happened before.

At the weekend I submitted the print version of Demon’s Life so I am now waiting on the proof. I’m really excited to see it and also see it alongside Demon’s Blood. Once they have both been approved I just need to finalise the print versions of Perfect World and New Era and then all my published works, apart from Never Change, will be available in print format! I don’t even have printed copies so I’m really looking forward to being able to get them and put them on my bookshelf.

It’s suddenly got really hot the last few days. I get the sun in my front room in the afternoon/early evening so I have been putting my fan on when I’m on my laptop or watching the TV. I do feel a bit bad though as Tash is scared of it. She sits in her TeePee and watches me and when I go to turn it off she runs out and sits on me the minute I do!

What day is it Anyway? Saturday, 23rd May 2020

My Day: There is a bank holiday on Monday so I have another 3 day weekend! The postman arrived first thing with my Tofu Cute order which was great as I wasn’t expecting that until next week! So it means I now have snacks for the weekend!

Treats

I’m especially excited to try the sakura mochi!

I sorted out some home bits and pieces in the morning and at lunchtime I sat down to watch BUCK-TICK’s YouTube Premier for this week! This week it was The Parade –  High Side which was awesome! I really need to go to Japan and see them live once everything returns to normal again!

This evening I’m playing a bit of Animal Crossing and am also going to work on my books. I also did the cover for Demon’s Life earlier which looks so good! I cannot wait to get my hands on the printed copies!

What day is it Anyway? Sunday 17th May 2020

My Day: I had a bit of a rude awakening at just passed 7 this morning. I heard a crash and woke up with a start to this:

Curtain Vandal

So thanks to Tash taking out my net curtains I was awake at an insanely early hour for a Sunday! Unfortunately I am one of these people who once I am awake that is it, I cannot get back asleep again no matter what time of the day or night it is!

I’ve spent most of my day writing and playing Animal Crossing. Perfect World 3 is coming along really well. There is a lot more angst which is to be expected as it is the penultimate book of the series. Adam’s definitely leaning more to the dark side again which isn’t great for his relationship with hero Eric 😦

Animal Crossing is going well too! I paid off my loan, only to have Tom Nook tempt me into another house extension and an even bigger one! It’s over a million bells! That is a lot of fishing! He also questioned my re-design choices! A house with a purple roof, pink door and pink mailbox is awesome, I would do that in real life if I could!

I’m going to visit my Sims later as they are feeling a bit neglected. They have a river nearby, I might make them go fishing too!

What day is it Anyway? Friday 15th May 2020

My day: I have so much more time to read as well as write nowadays which is a good thing since I do have a review backlog of a couple of years. I know. That’s terrible and I feel absolutely awful about it even though the reasons I am so behind were out of my hands. Anyway, I am making up for it now. I have finished 3 books this week. I am well on my way to clearing the rest of my review queue now which is great news!

I also have more time for writing, and also sorting out the print editions of my novels. I received the final proof of Demon’s Blood back yesterday and I am happy to report that I can now sign it off! I am almost finished with formatting Demon’s Life too so after I’ve done that I will just need to get the cover print ready.

My plans for the weekend are mainly to do book-related stuff. I also have to go to Tesco tomorrow morning to get some more milk. I think I am going to go early again as there was no one in there last time I went early.
